Why should I see a physical therapist?
  • You have medical problems, pain or other health-related conditions that limit your ability to move and perform functional or sport activities in your daily lives.
  • You are recovering from surgery or medical procedures that has affected your movements, daily activities and quality of life.
  • You are interested in injury risk analysis and in preventing conditions associated with loss of mobility through fitness and wellness programs that achieve healthy and active lifestyles.
What is manual therapy and how is it different from other therapies?
Manual Therapy is a clinical approach utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques, including but not limited to manipulation/mobilization, used by the physical therapist. It is different from other therapies in that is it used to help diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion, reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation, inducing relaxation, improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability, facilitating movement and optimizing function.

Examples may include: muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, craniosacral techniques, mobilization of joints, joint manipulation, mobilization of neural tissue, visceral mobilization, and strain and counterstrain

What makes Back 2 Normal Physical Therapy unique?
Our primary goal is to detect the true cause of injuries and pain, promote total body balance and overall wellness. We aim to provide a personalized, caring, holistic environment married with skilled hands-on physical therapy treatments that promote healing, expedite recovery, maximize function and accelerate pain relief.

Our team provides a restorative environment with treatments and services that honors a philosophy of treating the whole person. We take into account the subtle balance that exists within your body and develop a treatment plan, which collaborates with fitness specialists and health/medical providers to help get you “Back 2 Normal”.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
In the state of Florida, a physical therapist may perform a physical therapy assessment and provide treatment for any disability, injury, disease or other health condition without a referral from a doctor for up to 21 days. However, if physical therapy treatments are required beyond 21 days, or a patient is under the care of a physician for a condition they are seeking physical therapy services for, then a referral will be required.

If you do not have a physician to refer you to physical therapy, we are happy to assist you in sourcing one to meet your needs.

Some insurance companies will not reimburse physical therapy services without a referral.

Will my insurance cover my physical therapy sessions?
Back 2 Normal Physical Therapy strives to provide the highest quality patient care. As health care costs continue to rise, Back 2 Normal Physical Therapy makes every effort to maintain our standards of care. In order to honor this commitment, we are an out-of-network provider.

As a courtesy, Back 2 Normal Physical Therapy will provide each client with an invoice for all services rendered. The client will be responsible for paying at time of service and can submit for reimbursement to their insurance company.

How can I benefit from injury risk analysis?
Whether you are a professional athlete or weekend warrior, don’t let injuries keep you sidelined. Identify movement patterns that may be putting you at risk for injury will help keep you in the game and performing your best. Once the injury risk analysis is completed you will learn corrective exercise strategies routinely being utilized by many professional sports such as Tennis, Golf, National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB) and Major League Soccer (MLS).
Will I work with the same therapist during each of my physical therapy sessions?
At Back 2 Normal Physical Therapy we are committed to providing our clients with extensive one-on-one care with the same physical therapist that caters to their particular needs. Each client receives 55 minutes of uninterrupted treatment at each visit. All treatments are performed by PTs; we do not employ assistants, aides or technicians.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Bring a comfortable change of clothes. Shorts, tank top or sports bra are preferred.

Please come prepared with all necessary paperwork completed. Paperwork can be downloaded from our forms page. If you have any reports from your physician, or test results, please bring a copy for the therapist to review.
